| On January 11, 2007,
the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control
(DNREC) held a public hearing to allow groups to express
support/concern of the proposed Herring Point project (restoration of the two groins located at Herring Point). More information on the project is here. The Delaware
Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is the lead coordinator with the
support of Surfrider's Ocean City and DC Capitol Chapters, the
Annapolis Surf Club, ESA of Maryland, and Christian Surfers MD/DE. The Annapolis Surf Club submitted a letter at the hearing in support of "Saving the Naval Jetties," made formal oral comments at the hearing, several members attended the hearing and additionally, members signed an on-line petition in support of the proposal. |
