Our Mission: The Annapolis Surf Club is a club specifically designed for wave riding enthusiast on the western shores of the DelMarVa. The purpose of the ASC shall be to provide and promote a positive community among regional surfers in order to provide a network through which members can meet and exchange information through their common interests and promote the spirit of aloha by respecting the beach and ocean. The club’s charitable purpose is to raise funds to contribute to local wave riding, beach and coastal related non-profit [501(c)(3)] groups. We do this, in part, by sharing the ride, some waves, and some laughs on the way to and from our wave riding destination. The Club subscribes to the tenet of the Aloha Spirit Law. What's Happening?

Thaw Out Cookout and Membership (and Board) Meeting
Date of Event: May 17, 2008 (Saturday)

Time: 7:00pm
Location: Gary Lay's Deck (see the Directions on the SurfASC Forum)
General Membership Involvement: Required, guests are encouraged. This is an opportunity for members to meet each other, listen to the campaign speeches of Board nominees and to poke fun at surfers being way too serious. Discussions about the Club’s direction tend to be laced with stories about the great hurricane swell from the preceding week. Remembering the issues provided by the candidates and wondering about the number of pints consumed, is a common complaint on the following morning. Come join in on the fun, but be sure and remember your speech and campaign promises.

A Good Sign... On the road to Ocean City

ASC Newsletter. The August 2007 edition represents a first splash of the quarterly newsletter from the President.
ASC member Russell Canard opens D.C.'s very own surfshop, Atlantic East Surf Shop.
ASC member makes the Delmarva news. This week's surfing article written by Roy Harrell in the Beachcomber and Delaware Coast Press is about a surfing trek he and his kids decided to try last week down at Tom's Cove, in Chincoteague. They wanted to see if the stories about it working with a NE storm were true. In the story he wrote, "A recently transplanted surfer from the Great Lakes [ASC's Tim Guy] asked if he could tag along. He was even more amped than we were, and his optimistic chatter about perfect backside barrels soon had us all frothing." Roy Harrell went on to explain how they were skunked and that, "the poor guy from the Great Lakes turned right around and headed off muttering something about it being better in Sheboygan."

T-shirts, hats, hoodies, and a plethora of ASC merchandise can be purchased from our online ASC store. Each product is offered with three different logos, so mix and match if you like. More info on the SurfASC Forum.

    , 2008 (Friday-Sunday) (Volunteer Coordinator: Paul Moos)
    Location: Assateague National Seashore -
    Oceanside Group Site
Assateague is wonderful in the Spring! The water is warming, the air is crisp but no longer frosty. No bugs. Late winter swells can still happen this time of the year. Pleasant camping and pleasant (sometimes fabulous!) surfing. The site is located just south of the North parking lot/ranger station. We will have one of four sites there. Plenty of parking. You will need to carry your camping gear in about 100 yards.

Check this blog for updates on boards getting built for the event. http://www.anythingbut3east.blogspot.com/

    On stage: The

Marlow's View: Must be a club of wusses. Took the wife out of the box for an evening of suds and sounds. The Diamondheads played well and even got a chance to visit some of the ASC that have been sentenced to house arrest for a long time. Saw Gary and wife, Neal and wife, Rod and wife, Foon and wife and even got to chat with EZ. The SF girlies were there in force and wiggling to the music. I would say that you all really missed it, but you might have crowded me if you had attended.

Foon's View: Good to see many I have not over the winter. Diamondheads were excellent and so was the good company and munchibles. Mrs. Foon was a trooper and attended though afflicted with a sinus headache. She thought dancing with Rodrigo would cure her. She was wrong. Looking forward to this weekend of ASC and OCSF events. Sorry we had to leave early but I spent my quota on SF shirts and hats.
